Dispute over motorcycle escalates into violent fight

A violent dispute broke out between two neighbors in the old Galla Mandi area of Jehangirabad on Tuesday, leading to heavy stone-pelting, clashes and armed attacks by the two groups.

The dispute escalated as people brandished swords, and both sides armed themselves with sticks. During the fight, a woman was reportedly beaten in the middle of the road by a group of youths. More than six people, including women, were injured in the incident.

Upon receiving the news, police arrived on the scene and took control of the situation, deploying a heavy police presence to restore order.

Ashish Upadhyay, head of the police station, stated that this dispute was a continuation of an earlier altercation between the two parties that took place two days ago. Tensions flared after that incident, leading to the pelting of stones on houses early in the morning, causing panic in the area.

DCP Zone 1 Priyanka Shukla clarified that the earlier dispute was triggered by a conflict over a speeding motorcycle, which resulted in a case against five persons at the Jahangirabad police station. While three of the suspects were arrested, two others remain at large.

Today, tensions flared again over the absconding suspects. Despite the growing crowd, police were already stationed on the scene and quickly escalated their response by notifying the control room.

Authorities have vowed to take strict action against those carrying weapons in the videos circulating online. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured and the situation is now under control.
