Kolkata, Dec 30 (PTI) The framing of charges before a PMLA court in a money laundering case related to a recruitment scam probed by the ED could not be done on Monday as one of the accused was taken to hospital after complained about illness.

Sujoy Krishna Bhadra was taken to the government-run hospital SSKM after he reportedly felt dizzy while being taken to the PMLA court at Bankshall court here, his lawyer told the judge.

The PMLA court, which was hearing the case on the money trail in the alleged school recruitment scam in the state, directed that the matter be heard again on January 2.

The court also directed that Bhadra’s medical report be produced before her on the next date of hearing.

Other accused in the case, including Arpita Mukherjee and Kuntal Ghosh, who are out on bail, have appeared before the court as per the earlier order.

Former Minister of State for Education Partha Chatterjee was also produced before the court.

The Supreme Court had ordered Chatterjee’s release on bail on February 1, 2025, on the condition that the court would frame charges against the accused and question vulnerable witnesses by January 30.
