Sundar breaks down India’s game plan after the turnaround on Day 3 in Melbourne

Sundar joined Reddy in the middle when India were seven wickets behind with a score of 221. He then scored his third Test fifty, second in Australia.

Sundar, who had played a role in India’s victory in Perth, was added to the line-up ahead of India’s top batsman Shubman Gill. When he knocked, the 25-year-old credited the Indian think tank for putting their faith in him.

“Gauti bhai and all the support staff kept believing in me, kept telling me what I was capable of, especially at this level, in this format. That really means a lot to me. It makes me believe that I can do special things for the Indian team.

“It would have been even better if I had scored a few more runs and not lost my wicket, but I think we are in a good position today.”
