Sevenoaks magistrates heard how the 44-year-old went to the business on July 21 and put the motor oil in the baskets and left.
He was identified and later arrested.
Padley, formerly of Cranwell Road in the city but now of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to shoplifting when he appeared in court on December 18.
James Nichols, prosecuting, said: “There were three others and they all stole the items together.
“The combined value of the goods was £460.95p and the items were not recovered.
“This is an old offense and if it had been before the judge in November when he had committed similar offences, as it should have been, it would have made no difference to the suspended sentence imposed on him at the time.”

Andrew Main, defending, told magistrates that Padley appeared in court on November 6 and was given a 26-week prison sentence to run for 18 months, which meant he had to complete 20 rehabilitation sessions which will also help him with his mental health .
As a result, the magistrates decided to discharge him conditionally for a period of twelve months and ordered him to pay compensation of £100 to the garage, as well as a victim surcharge of £26.
