Smith County authorities are searching for armed robbery suspects

SMITH COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) – Officers are asking for public information regarding a robbery that happened at gunpoint Friday.

Authorities responded to a store in the 10700 block of SH 31 around 10:30 a.m. after receiving a report that cash had been taken from the register at gunpoint, according to a release from the Smith County Sheriff’s Office.

When officers arrived, they spoke with a victim who described the incident. According to the release, a black man dressed all in black, wearing a ski mask and gloves, shoe covers and a gun entered the store and demanded that the victim open the register. Officers said he took the money and fled out the front door, getting into a black car driven by another man. The vehicle was traveling eastbound on SH 31, authorities said.
