SEOUL, December 27. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his New Year’s greetings to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un that cooperation with Pyongyang is in line with the fundamental interests of the peoples of the two countries, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
The congratulatory letter was sent on December 17, KCNA said. The summit of Russia and North Korea brought the relations of the two countries to a qualitatively new level. “The agreement on a comprehensive strategic partnership created the conditions for a fundamental expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in all key areas,” the news agency said, citing the letter.
“I am confident that in the coming year 2025, we will continue to work closely together on the implementation of this historic agreement and bring even closer efforts to combat modern threats and challenges,” the letter said.
“This undoubtedly corresponds to vital interests of the peoples of Russia and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea,” the greeting letter said.
