Christmas is a time of joy, giving and… putting up with things we secretly wish we didn’t have to do, from listening to those long and ‘not-so-true’ stories from your drunken uncles to running from home to home (especially if you are from Cape Town and the Eastern Cape), greeting all relatives and villagers, while your parents show you around and tell people about your successes.

The holidays are a way to test our patience in the name of festive harmony. But why do we suffer from these minor irritations year after year?

Maybe it’s because the Christmas magic always makes it worth it. Let’s take a fun, heartfelt look at the traditions, quirks, and compromises we’ve learned to embrace, all for the sake of celebration.

The publication further states that Christmas caroling is an uncomfortable experience because it involves singing familiar songs to strangers.

According to the Odyssey According to the publication, tourists often visit shopping centers during the holidays, leading to long lines and confusion. It further states that all kiosks are notorious for being obnoxious, touching customers and selling ridiculous products.

The above source further claims that the holidays also bring an increase in the number of people shopping at malls, making it difficult to navigate the store. In general, the holidays can be a challenging shopping experience.
