The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is adamant on not sending the team to Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy. Many former and current Pakistani players have already shared their views on the matter. While some of them urged India to change their stand, others criticized them over the issue. Pakistan white-ball captain Muhammad Rizwan was also asked about the same during a recent interview. When the video went viral, Indian business tycoon Harsh Goenka reshared it on X (formerly Twitter) and asked social media users to understand Rizwan’s response.

Ahead of the first ODI at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Muhammad Rizwan was questioned about India’s refusal to visit Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. In response he said something that seemed rather incoherent.

Harsh Goenka shared the images and wrote, “If you understand what Pakistan captain Muhammad Rizwan is saying, please let me know.” After the post appeared on X, many felt that the Goenka was probably trying to dig into Rizwan’s English-speaking skills.

Keeping the same in mind, a social media user said, “I always felt it’s wrong. If someone doesn’t speak English, why interview them in English? There’s no point. They make so much money through players, can’t they hire a translator? Why is it necessary to learn another language just because you are a cricketer?”

Another user sarcastically wrote that Harsh Goenka should hire Muhammad Rizwan “for media and investor communications at RPG Group.”

“PCB should just hire one interpreter to go with the team instead of facing this embarrassment,” one individual suggested.
