The nation’s largest medical university where future physicians can learn in the Heartland

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) – The nation’s largest medical university will train some future physicians right here in the Heartland.

Mercy announced a partnership with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine on Thursday morning, November 7.

The students will complete clinical rotations at Mercy hospitals in Cape Girardeau and Stoddard County during the upcoming school year.

Lake Erie College also partners with Southeast Missouri State University to assist local medical students.

Mercy Southeast’s chief medical officer said the partnership lays the foundation for the facility to become a “teaching hospital.”
