Panthera is only up for adoption because her owner is moving and cannot take her with him

This beautiful female shepherd is called Panthera. She is 5 years old and weighs 77 pounds. However, you don’t have to be afraid of her size, she walks well on a leash and is easy to handle. She would make a great pet for a family that loves the outdoors or perfect for a family that just loves shepherds.

Panthera gets along well with other dogs that are easy-going and dogs that she does not feel threatened by. She was turned over to the South Bend Animal Resource Center because her owner was moving and could not take Panthera with her. The owner noted that Panthera was a good watchdog and that she got along well with children.

With her unusual name Panthera, the word for the family of big cats including tigers, lions, jaguars and leopards, you might think she is a cat lover, but that’s not true. This Panthera does not like to share her space with cats of any size.

Panthera has a sponsor for her adoption. All dogs are spayed or neutered and microchipped before leaving SBARC. They have basic vaccinations, have been tested for heartworm and are current on preventative measures. Adoption applications are valid for one year. If you do not have a specific dog in mind, submit a request and SBARC will help you find your perfect match. SBARC must have an approved application on file to schedule a meet-n-greet. Don’t wait another minute, Panthera would love to come back and watch over her own family.
