A Sioux City man pleads not guilty to killing a motorcyclist

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – A Sioux City man has pleaded not guilty to a murder that occurred in early September.

Court documents show that on Tuesday, October 15, Michael P. White Thunder, 33, of Sioux City, pleaded not guilty to one count of second-degree murder.

The same documents show that White Thunder also demanded a speedy trial.

White Thunder was arrested and charged over an incident that occurred on Monday, September 2. That day, the Sioux City Police Department received a report of a motorcycle accident near the intersection of W. 20th and Rebecca St. in Sioux City.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a man, later identified as 65-year-old Bret B. Seibold, with a head injury.

Seibold was taken to a local hospital, but was later transferred to a hospital in Omaha, where he died from his injuries.

As we have already reported, the police determined that there was no motorcycle accident. They learned that before officers were called, there had been an argument between Seibold and White Thunder.

White Lightning also reportedly told officers that he threw a brick at Seibold. He claims he did it because Seibold was trying to run him over, but he denied hitting Seibold with a brick.

White Thunder is in custody at the Woodbury County Jail.
