Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald has topped the first count of votes in Dublin Central, but no candidate has yet been chosen in the constituency as no one has yet reached the quota.
Gerard ‘The Monk’ Hutch is currently in fourth place, behind Paschal Donohoe and Gary Gannon.
It doesn’t look good when Green TD Neasa Hourigan is in the four-seater and won first preference votes in 1952.

Asked if she had a message for Gerard ‘The Monk’ Hutch, the Sinn Féin leader said: ‘Not particularly. This is a democratic system; people call. If he is a representative of the people in the Dáil, he will have the same rights and responsibilities as the rest of us.”
“I look forward and hope to working with other colleagues on the left in the Dáil,” she added.

“Let’s wait and see where the numbers end up and then I’ll be very, very actively working with others on other formulations, other configurations that will result in a changed government,” she said.
“And I don’t want to be overly progressive, if you don’t mind, or presumptuous in any way, because obviously I have to go talk to the leaders of the other parties, one of whom just had a party. a girl (Social Democrat leader Holly Cairns), so I’m sure he’s extremely busy with that too.”
Ms McDonald added: “I intend to create a government of change and I will look at all the wording.
“If you want my conclusion, the idea of Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael for another five years is not, in our view, a good outcome for Irish society.
“It is clear that I want to talk to other parties of the left and to those with whom we share very important policy objectives. So I’m going to do that first and just listen to their thoughts, listen to their thoughts. But be very clear: we will very, very actively pursue access to government.
“When we took part in the campaign, it became clear to me that people want us to have a place in government, and they want us to see results. And I’m going to do everything I can to determine if and how that could happen. are possible.
“That means completing the counting so we can assess the results in their entirety, and then of course conversations and dialogue with others.”
