Good Morning Britain sparked outrage when they revealed two masked robbers broke into the Windsor Castle estate while Prince William, Princess Catherine and their three children slept nearby.
Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid presented Monday’s (November 18) episode of the ITV programme, which discussed some of the biggest stories to hit the headlines.
This included the recent royal raid and Joe Biden accused of starting World War III after US approval of Ukrainian attacks Russia.
The devastating royal news saw two masked men climb the 1.8 meter high fence surrounding Shaw Farm at the royal residence on October 13 to steal a farming vehicle. A Thames Valley Police spokesman confirmed the thieves fled in a farm vehicle and a quad bike.
Despite the heartbreaking update, fans were left furious as they wondered why other burglaries aren’t getting the same attention.
One fumed: “PATHETIC the way GMB is trying to make a big deal out of the ‘Royal Raid’. Kevin is right! It’s a farm on a huge estate!! They stole agricultural equipment. The Royals were asleep during the raid as they were miles away. away.”
Another said: “My neighbour’s house was broken into last month and personal items and a car were stolen, it’s a mess when there’s not enough police isn’t it. Let me know if you’d like to come along with your cameras & do an interview & I’ll pass on their details.”
A third furious viewer added: “So what about all the other people who have had their property broken into? How dare you let this become a big news story, when people can’t even get a police investigation, talking about being disrespectful to others? , shame on you.”
Meanwhile, others claimed there were inaccuracies in the report, with a fourth posting: “Guys you’re making headlines, it’s the castle… it wasn’t the farmland site… slippery journalism as usual. Correct please!!!”
Another echoed: “Gosh, the media is making it up as they go along? Run to the main gate, it wasn’t near the castle, it was on a farm on the estate and it was a tractor and a few vehicles they stole and climbed a fence.”
It is believed the Prince and Princess of Wales, both 42, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, were sleeping at nearby Adelaide Cottage during the burglary.
A source said The sun the big thieves “must have been watching Windsor Castle for some time” before they struck.
They added: “They must have known the vehicles were stored there before breaking in and knew when was the best time to escape without being caught.
“It was a Sunday evening during a school week, so the young princes and princess would have been in bed at Adelaide Cottage, just around the corner but still on the grounds.”
