The Las Vegas Raiders are an absolute dumpster fire coming into their week 11 game, which is great news for their opponent, the Miami Dolphinsa team trying to get its season back on track.
The Raiders are in the midst of a terrible year in which they have lost five straight games after starting 2-2. The Raiders had a chance to catch their breath during their bye last week, and the team made some changes to the coaching staff, most notably firing offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, who will be replaced in the interim by passing game coordinator Scott Turner.
The Dolphins saw their 2024 campaign derailed due to the latest concussion for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. While Tua was out, Miami lost three of four games. And even with Tua back, the Dolphins have lost two of their last three.
But things are looking a little better for Miami after a 23-15 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night. Now the Dolphins will be looking to make a run, even though they have no margin for error with a 3-6 record.
Here’s a look at some picks and expert predictions for this AFC showdown between the Dolphins and Raiders.
Picks of Dolphins vs. Raiders, Week 11 Predictions
Vinnie Iyer, sports news: Dolphins 24, Raiders 14
Iyer: “The Raiders will be rested after a bye while the Dolphins operate in a short week. Las Vegas’ defense will be the biggest concern here as it will have a lot of trouble slowing down the speedy De’Von Achane. Finally, the defense of Miami gets a break against a weaker rushing attack and passing attack that will inevitably stumble regardless of the QB.”
Bill Bender, sports news: Dolphins 28, Raiders 22
Bending machine: “The Raiders had a bye week to try to rebuild a brutal season, and the Dolphins are working on a short week after Monday Night Football against the Rams. Las Vegas is 3-0 ATS as underdogs by seven points or more, and Gardner Minshew hasn’t thrown an interception in his past two starts. Miami will take advantage of Las Vegas’ inability to run the ball, but this still feels like a one-score game.”
Ben Rolfe, Pro Football Network: Dolphins 27, Raiders 17
Rolfe: “The Dolphins have the advantage on offense and defense, so barring an injury on Monday night they should win this game. We have no idea what the new look of the Raiders will look like, but given their personnel limitations it’s unlikely they will.” are significantly better than what we’ve seen.”
Jeremy Cluff, Arizona Republic: Dolphins 27, Raiders 16
Problem: “The Raiders have the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons next after the Dolphins. The current five-game losing streak could last much longer.”
