Research shows that the most dangerous holiday songs are to listen to while driving

A scientific study from the South China University of Technology has shown that songs with more than 120 beats per minute lead to an increase in dangerous driving behavior. Insuranceopedia – a car insurance comparison website – used that research to conduct its own study dangerous holiday songs to listen to while driving over the next week.

“As the holidays approach, it is important to recognize how music influences our driving behavior. While festive tunes bring joy, some energetic or distracting songs can affect our focus on the road.” Max Coupland, the CEO of Insurancesopediasaid.

Insuranceopedia said it recorded the beats per minute (bpm) of each classic Christmas song and ranked the 10 songs with the highest bpm, from highest to lowest.

“Frosty The Snowman” ranked as the most dangerous holiday song to drive to, at 172 beats per minute.

Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” came in second, with 150 beats per minute.

The full list of the top 10 holiday songs that Insuranceopedia has come up with is as follows:
