Couple armed with knives threaten staff at an off-licence in Lurgan

Police are investigating an armed robbery at an off-licence in Lurgan in which cash and other items were stolen.

Officers said two men armed with knives entered the property in the Castle Lane area at 7.55pm on Saturday.

Detective Sergeant Johnston said: “The suspects threatened a member of staff with a knife and demanded money from the till.

“Both suspects fled on foot with a number of items, including cash.

“An extensive search of the area was carried out by officers to attempt to apprehend the suspects, who were wearing dark clothing with their faces covered.

“While there were no reports of physical harm, this was a frightening ordeal for this employee and those in the store at the time.

“Enquiries are continuing and anyone who witnessed what happened or noticed anything suspicious in the area is asked to contact 101, quoting reference number 1446 of 21/12/24.

“We would also like to hear from anyone with CCTV or other footage that could assist our investigation.”
