Even two days after burglars made off with the entire stock of gold and silver jewelery from the Suvarna Jewelery store, located in Chakeisiani, under the Mancheswar Police limits in Bhubaneswarthe police are still in the dark.
According to reports, the brutal robbery took place late on the night of December 19. The criminals managed to gain access to the store by cutting the locks at the front. They showed advanced planning by disabling the store’s CCTV cameras before the robbery. They managed to disconnect the cameras and remove the digital video recorder (DVR), presumably to eliminate any evidence.
After the incident, Brahma Sahu, the owner of the jewelery shop, filed a complaint with the Mancheswar police station. Although two days have passed, the police have still not found any clues about the robbers. Meanwhile, they are currently examining CCTV footage from the neighboring area and hope that their efforts will yield clues to arrest those responsible for the theft.
It seems that miscreants are making an open challenge to the Police Commissioner because they started focusing on retail after focusing on apartments within apartments.
Notably, some unidentified miscreants allegedly looted lakhs of rupees and gold and silver jewelery from four flats of Vishal Garden Apartment in Uttara Chhak in Bhubaneswar on November 30 late evening.
Earlier in October, two burglars allegedly raped a woman after ransacking her apartment in Bhubaneswar’s Maitri Vihar area. The woman was with her daughter when the burglars broke into her apartment and committed the gruesome crime. Later, the suspects were arrested by the Commissionerate police
