Liam Neeson is about to retire his particular skill set.

Neeson, 72, announced that he is thinking about moving away from action films in 2025. “Maybe late next year. I think that’s it,” the “Taken” star said in an interview with People magazine published Wednesday.

The actor will star in next month’s action film “Absolution,” and although the film’s director, Hans Petter Moland, says Neeson is doing great, the actor is trying to be pragmatic.

“I’m 72 years old – it has to end at some point,” he told the website, which sometimes leaves certain moves to stunt actor Mark Vanselow. “You can’t fool the audience. I don’t want Mark to fight for me in fight scenes.”

According to IMDb, 2025 will be a busy year for Neeson, who is also set to star in the thriller “Cold Storage.”

Also next year, Neeson will star alongside Pamela Anderson in the reboot of the “Naked Gun” franchise.

The 56-year-old “Baywatch” actress will star alongside Neeson as the love interest in the revival of the police comedy series that originally starred Leslie Nielsen, Anderson’s rep confirmed to USA TODAY earlier this year.

As previously announced by Paramount Pictures, the film’s premiere is scheduled for July 2025.

In the original “The Naked Gun” trilogy, Nielsen played the role of the goofy Lieutenant Frank Drebin, based on the TV series “Police Squad!” Priscilla Presley played the love interest in all three films.

Neeson had high praise for Anderson: “I’m madly in love with her,” he told People. “I can’t compliment her enough. She’s funny.”

However, Neeson also opened up to People about dating, making it clear that he’s “put it all behind me” since the death of his wife Natasha Richardson.
