Alleged Boxing Day shoplifter arrested and charged in Caledon Ont.

Although Boxing Day is known for securing the best deals, one local customer went too far and reportedly tried to get a deal for free.

On Thursday, officers responded to a report of an alleged shoplifting incident that occurred at an LCBO store in Bolton shortly before 5 p.m.

Police say they have been given the exact description of a vehicle the suspect left, allowing police to quickly track down the man.

When members of the Caledon OPP located the suspect, they arrested him and began an investigation.

Investigation revealed that the suspect was in possession of a stolen car.

As a result, a 39-year-old was charged with theft under $5,000 for two charges: shoplifting, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of an ID and possession of a credit card, along with a handful of others charges.

The suspect was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville.
