New Year’s Eve Events in the Cape Fear Area

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Several New Year’s Eve events will be held across southeastern North Carolina on December 31st.

The seventh annual Blueberry drop on New Year’s Eve will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM in downtown Burgaw, with a fireworks show following the blueberry drop.

Bourbon sons plays on the main stage at 5 p.m., with a variety of food trucks and vendors at the event.

The Museum of Coastal Carolina and the City of Ocean Isle Beach Recreation Department will host an afternoon New Year’s Eve at Ocean Isle Beach on December 31 at 11 a.m.

There will be crafts, food, refreshments and a dance party at Town Center Park, leading up to the countdown to “Noon Year” at noon.

Face painting will also be offered during the event.

An Island of Lights New Year’s Eve celebration, a free family-friendly event, will be held on the Carolina Beach boardwalk at 9 p.m.

The giant beach ball drop at midnight will be followed by fireworks and the event will also feature a DJ, dancing, refreshments and party favors for sale.

Thalian Hall hosts their annual New Year’s Eve gala with cabaret performed by the Opera House Theater Company.

The event includes dinner, drinks and a performance of a popular Broadway musical by Opera House Theater Company.

After the show there will be a party in the Grand Ballroom, karaoke in the Ruth and Bucky Stein Theater, a ball drop at midnight and La Big Bouche Cabaret on the Historic Main Stage.

The Children’s Museum of Wilmington is hosting a New Year’s afternoon celebration.

During the family-friendly event, you can decorate a festive crown, make your own streamer stick, make a juice toast to the New Year and make a fortune teller for 2025.

It ends with a confetti throw at 12 noon.

Brooklyn arts will welcome back The Kitchen Dwellers to play two nights, December 30 and December 31, to ring in the new year.

Standing tickets for the Dec. 30 show start at $31 and tickets for the New Year’s Eve show start at $51. Two day passes are sold out.

According to organizationa portion of ticket sales will benefit Asheville’s Salvage Station to support members affected by Hurricane Helene.

Bluewater Front Grill is hosting a New Year’s celebration with live music from Uptown Easy, dancing, free bar bites, sparkling toast and party favors.

Live music starts at 9pm and cash bars are open throughout the second floor.

Cape Fear Riverboats is hosting a New Year’s Eve cruise on December 31 at 10 p.m.

Guests board the Henrietta and cruise down the river. There will be light bites, a DJ and indoor and outdoor seating.

The cruise starts on board at 9:00 PM and lasts until 12:30 PM

Tickets are $83, including party favors and champagne toast. VIP tickets cost $97, which includes priority boarding and an additional drink ticket.

This event is only open to those 21 years and older.
