‘Don’t understand why he did it’: Andre 3000 addresses Drake leaking collaboration track with Ye

Andre 3000 had recorded a song with Kanye West for the Can’t Tell Me Nothing rapper’s tenth studio album. However, the track, called Life of the Party, was leaked by Drake, with the Pink Matter artist recently shedding light on exactly what he was feeling.

While appearing on the New York Times Podcast, the topic of Drake leaking André 3000’s track was brought up.

André 3000 shed light on the matter, saying, “I was like, ‘Woah!’ I don’t really understand why he did it… I actually have to thank Drake for bringing that song into existence.”

The interview, conducted on December 21, 2024, lasted almost 90 minutes, which even included a performance by the rapper So Fresh, So Clean.

For those unfamiliar with the incident, the U My Everything artist had leaked the track Life of the Party on his SiriusXM radio show. This subsequently led to the aforementioned song being omitted from the album Kanye West. However, it is crucial to know that the Vader Stretch My Hands Pt. One artist later released the song in the deluxe version of his album Donda.

The track Life of the Party is a collaboration between Kanye West and André 3000 for the Praise God artist’s 10th studio album.

Andre 3000 even revealed on the podcast that Kanye West dedicated the album Donda to his mother, Mrs. Donda West.

Speaking about the album, André 3000 further stated that he could identify with the album as his own mother had passed away in 2013. Therefore, he and West had agreed to remove 3000’s verse from the song, as there were a few swear words and Ye did not want such strong expressions in his album.
