If you need advice on a last-minute gift for your mother, maybe don’t ask Jason And Travis Kelce!
When a fan turned to Jason, 37, and Travis, 35, for advice on when — “if ever” — to tell your partner they’re a “bad gift giver” on the Tuesday, December 24, episode of New heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, the co-hosts shared a charming childhood memory.
After telling the listener to “say something” to his partner because the situation “sounds like a problem,” Jason revealed, “Mom, Donna Kelcewas presented with the same gifts Christmas after Christmas.”
Kylie Kelce who married the former Philadelphia Eagles center in 2018 and was a special guest this episode, quickly figured out what the routine combination was and chimed in: “Earrings and candles.”
Jason said he and Travis gave their mother earrings, candles and “pistachios” every Christmas for their “entire childhood” before Donna finally spoke up.
“She said, ‘You don’t have to give me the same thing every Christmas,’” Jason said during the podcast.
Travis joked, “Yeah, but what do you get from a mom who has everything she ever needs?”

Ultimately, Jason’s real advice to the caller was to be honest and “just say you don’t like him/her,” but in a positive way.
“Just say, ‘Hey, I think I’d appreciate something a little more sentimental,’” the ESPN analyst suggested. “Just say what you like, don’t say what you don’t like.”
Kylie advised the listener to “be gentle with it” and plant seeds “in advance” about possible items on your wish list to give your partner ideas.

Ed Kelce’s gift-giving efforts, meanwhile, left a lasting impression on Travis and Jason.
On the December 18 episode of their podcast, the brothers revealed that Ed “took a second job” at a See’s Candies store around the holidays.
“So Dad took the second job to buy gifts for Travis and I, because he needed more money around the holidays to buy the gifts Travis and I were asking for,” Jason explained in the episode, calling Ed, ‘the ultimate father.”
