Here’s an initiative from @beautifulbharatorg and the #ZeroWasteCollective to help street vendors go plastic-free!

At the iconic Kadalekayi Parishe (Groundnut Fair) in Bengaluru, nearly 1 lakh eco-friendly newspaper bags have replaced the banned plastic. This citywide campaign brought together students, RWAs and volunteers so that vendors had sustainable alternatives to plastic bags.

The clip features Aruna, a groundnut seller from Tamil Nadu, being guided by @odettekatrak to make sturdy newspaper bags in less than a minute! Vendors like Aruna are now bringing this skill back to their villages, creating changes.
