Pulisic gives the USMNT an early lead over Jamaica

Mauricio Pochettin’s United States team may have moved closer to reaching the semi-finals of the Concacaf Nations League after taking an early lead in St. Louis.

After Juventus’ Tim Weah almost opened the scoring in the fourth minute of action before being denied by the woodwork, it was Christian Pulisic who put the Stars and Stripes ahead.

Weston McKennie played a delightful diagonal ball across the Reggae Boyz back line before the Milan striker slotted past Andre Blake on the half-volley.

He would complete his brace later in the 33rd minute, with McKennie once again turning provider as the midfielder felt free on the right before his deflected pass into the penalty area found Pulisic free to extend the lead on the evening.

With the US holding a combined 4-0 lead and having lost to Jamaica just three times in 36 meetings, the US will certainly be confident of making progress tonight.
