As Rafael Nadal prepares to join in his last professional tennis tournament during the Davis Cup this week, his old sponsor Babolat wanted to ensure he ended his career in style.
The tennis brand created a custom tennis bag for the 22-time major winner, featuring several incredible stats from his career.
Some of those achievements include “Rafa Nadal & Babolat since 1995” (marking the beginning of his partnership with the brand), “1250 Babolat rackets and 0 broken” (a pretty amazing statistic for a tennis player), 22 Grand Slams , 36 Masters 1000 titles, 23 ATP 500 titles and 10 ATP 250 titles.
There are a few other tennis racket stats, including the 300 kilometers of strings used on his racquets, the 125 Babolat bags he used, and the 16,500 meters of Babolat overgrip used. There are also images of all the major tournaments he has won.
The bag is black with bright pink, neon yellow and blue details. A special bag to use during his final tournament.
Team Spain will face the Netherlands on Tuesday during the Davis Cup. If Spain is eliminated, Nadal’s career could end as early as Tuesday, but it could also end on Sunday if Spain reaches the final. He is focused on the competition this week and not his impending retirement.
