Chelsea topped the Women’s Super League with a 2-0 win over Manchester City on Saturday as Mayra Ramirez and Guro Reiten scored second-half goals to lift them past the visitors in the standings.
Chelsea’s seventh straight win in the league takes them to 21 points, two ahead of second-placed City with a game in hand, while Brighton & Hove Albion are three points further in third.
There was plenty of spice in the match as Chelsea seemed content with their visitors having the majority of possession, but both sides canceled each other out as they struggled to get shots on target.

Ramirez finally broke the deadlock in the 75th minute and appeared to nudge City defender Alanna Kennedy into connecting with Maika Hamano’s pass before running towards goal, cutting inside Alex Greenwood and firing the ball past Ayaka Yamashita.

Earlier in the afternoon, Arsenal continued their recent revival with a resounding 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur to move up to fourth in the table, while Fran Kirby’s 82nd minute goal earned Brighton a 3-2 victory over West Ham United yielded.
