Brazil’s first lady Janja Lula da Silva cursed at billionaire Elon Musk at a G20 social event on Saturday, where she spoke of the need to regulate social media to curb misinformation.
A ship’s horn sounded as she spoke and she joked, “I think it’s Elon Musk,” before adding that she wasn’t afraid of the tech mogul, using a swear word to emphasize her point.
Rosangela da Silva, wife of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, took aim at the billionaire owner of the X Platform as she spoke about the effects of social media and the need to fight fake news.
The feud between Lula’s camp and the world’s richest man has been raging since before Brazil’s Supreme Court blocked access to X earlier this year.
Janja, as the first lady is known, threatened to sue the social media company last year after an apparent hack of her account, with Musk accused of failing to respond appropriately.
Musk, owner of social network X, responded to a video of her comments by posting a laughing emoji image.
