Ohio State was called for 24 fouls as Texas A&M (3-1) went 32 for 40 (80.0%) from the free throw line, while the Buckeyes went 16 for 22 (72.7%). After making at least 10 three-pointers in each of the first two games of the season, Ohio State was just 8 for 30 (26.7%) from deep.
Bruce Thornton led the Buckeyes with 15 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the line and added four assists without a turnover. Freshman John Mobley Jr. added 13 points while Ohio State shot just 33.9% (20 for 59) from the field.
Texas A&M was 19 for 49 (38.8%) overall and 8 for 21 (38.1%) from the line.

Ohio State’s offense is heating up, but the defense can’t be stopped
With Texas A&M leading 51-33 with about 12 minutes to play, Ohio State got two free throws from John Mobley Jr. with 12:11 left to play.
It started a run of eight straight point possessions for the Buckeyes, who scored 16 points in 4:41, but it didn’t get them much closer. Texas A&M has scored 11 points during that stretch and leads 62-49 with 7:30 to go and free throws pending.
After a mini-state run in Ohio, Texas A&M regains control
The Buckeyes had gotten within 45-33 and had the ball, but Devin Royal’s dunk attempt was denied by Texas A&M’s Pharrel Payne. The Aggies took possession, pushed the ball and Wade Taylor IV was fouled while surrendering a shot.
Royal hit him after going off the glass for a goalie, and Taylor then hit the free throw. CJ Wilcher followed with a 3-pointer after a 3-point miss by Meechie Johnson Jr., and the lead was back to 18 points for the Aggies at 51-33 with about 12 minutes remaining.
John Mobley Jr. hits consecutive three-pointers for Ohio State
Texas A&M’s lead had increased to 45-27 after an offensive rebound led to a layup, but the Buckeyes forced the Aggies to call a timeout at the 1:30 mark thanks to consecutive made 3s by John Mobley Jr.
Mobley now has 11 points on 3-of-6 shooting from 3. He has hit three in a row after missing his first three. Ohio State follows 45-33.
Ohio State’s Micah Parrish called for a flagrant foul
With 17:02 remaining and Ohio State trailing 37-24, Ohio State’s Micah Parrish was whistled for a foul on an Aggies three-point attempt, pinning Texas A&M’s Solomon Washington face-first to the ground.

Texas A&M starts the second half hot against Ohio State
Trailing by nine at the half, the Buckeyes opened with their starters and the ball to start the second. They got a miss that barely touched the rim from Aaron Bradshaw and a three-pointer from Micah Parrish to follow.
Texas A&M hit two 3-pointers to push the lead to a game-high 15 points when Jake Diebler called a timeout with 18:24 remaining and the Aggies leading 37-22.
Ohio State trails Texas A&M by nine at halftime
The Buckeyes led 3–0 early, but gave up twelve straight points and didn’t get closer than five points through the remainder of the first half to take a 31–22 deficit into the Texas A&M locker room.
Ohio State has struggled to generate good looks against the Aggies, mainly by firing three-pointers and missing or turning the ball over. The Buckeyes are 7 for 32 (21.9%) from the field and 5 for 17 (29.4%) from 3 with eight turnovers, four of which come from fifth-year guard Meechie Johnson Jr.
Texas A&M has committed 12 fouls and is 15-of-18 from the free-throw line, while Ohio State is just 3-of-4 from the line.
Ques Glover leads Ohio State by six points at the half despite briefly leaving the game in pain. The Buckeyes forced the Aggies to miss nine of their last 11 shots of the half, but it’s still a nine-point deficit for Ohio State.
Meechie Johnson passes 1,000 career points
With 1:29 to play in the first half, Meechie Johnson Jr. a 3-pointer from the start to move him to 1,001 career points and pull Ohio State within 27-22.

Ohio State starters Bruce Thornton, Micah Parrish and Aaron Bradshaw all have two fouls in the first half. Texas A&M is 11 for 14 from the free throw line, while the Buckeyes are just 1 for 2.
Ques Glover staggers away

Glover hit a 3-pointer on the previous possession, breaking a streak of 14 misses on 15 shots for the Buckeyes.
Cold start continues for Ohio State at Texas A&M
After Bruce Thornton opened the scoring with a 3-pointer at the 6:40 mark, Ohio State didn’t score again until freshman John Mobley Jr. pushed the ball in transition and fed sophomore center Aaron Bradshaw for a dunk.
That came at 12:18, a 6:22 scoring drought. Texas A&M scored 12 straight points in between and leads 15-5 with 11:35 to play in the first half. Ohio State is 2 for 14 from the floor and 1 for 9 from 3.
Ohio State comes out firing and is mostly missing
Five of Ohio State’s first seven shots were three-pointers, and the Buckeyes made just one. Bruce Thornton hit an open 3 to start the scoring, but Ohio State has otherwise missed the other six shots as Texas A&M has taken a 5-3 lead at the first media timeout.
Fifth-year guard Meechie Johnson, who entered the game with a team-high seven turnovers, has two in the first 4:19.
Here are the starters for Ohio State vs Texas A&M
State of Ohio: Bruce Thornton, Meechie Johnson Jr., Micah Parrish, Sean Stewart, Aaron Bradshaw
Texas A&M: Zhuric Phelps, Wade Taylor IV, Solomon Washington, Andersson Garcia, Pharrel Payne
Ohio State without Kalen Etzler, Austin Parks
Ohio State will be without two players for the Texas A&M game.
The Buckeyes are without sophomore center Austin Parkswho played in both games this season and had a total of 11:06 playing time with three rebounds. A 6-10, 260-pound center, Parks’ size could have been useful against Texas A&M’s rebounding prowess.
His absence means Ohio State could get more time from freshmen Ivan Njegovanwho made his season debut in Monday’s win against Youngstown State and had one rebound and one missed 3-pointer in 3:43. He is a 7-1, 250-pound center.
Kalen Etzlera fourth-year forward, has missed all three games this season due to an undisclosed injury.
