A few days after hinting that he will return as Shaktimaan, actor Mukesh Khanna has said that he will not star in a film on the famous Indian superhero. “I need to clear up a misconception to people who thought that I came to announce the next Shaktimaan to the world. Totally wrong,” he further wrote X (formerly Twitter).

Khanna further clarified that he does not want to prove that he is “better than Ranveer Singh.” Soon after Khanna shared a poster and teaser video on Instagram on November 12, 2024, people on social media called it a befitting reply to actor Ranveer Singh. According to reports, the Generous boy star was supposed to play Shaktimaan but the project was shelved.

“Secondly, I have not come to prove or show that I am better than Ranveer Singh, otherwise someone who will carry the mantle of Shaktimaan will become the next Shaktimaan,” he added. Khanna has often expressed his displeasure over Ranveer playing Shaktimaan, saying that the actor is not suitable for the role.

Khanna, who played the popular superhero in the TV series that aired on Doordarshan in 1997, released a patriotic quiz aimed at children in the avatar of Shaktimaan. “I came up with a patriotic quiz song as an elder Shaktimaan because I can and everyone should see clearly that darkness and evil have the upper hand over children these days,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Khanna hit out at Tiger Shroff and said that the actor is not fit to play Shaktimaan. In an interview with ABP Entertainment LiveKhanna said, “Forgive me, but if Tiger Shroff tells a child to flush the toilet like Shaktimaan, the child will turn around and say to him, ‘Tu baith jaa’ (Sit down). He is still a child among children. That is his image and he does not have the status to play Shaktimaan.”
