BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – City of Bend officials are considering the idea of adding metered traffic lights to the busy Reed Market Road/Bond Street/Brookswood Boulevard roundabout. The idea was discussed recently meeting of the Bend City Council Construction Subcommittee.
The use of measured signals – tested there for the first time almost five years ago – would prevent vehicles in one lane from immediately entering the roundabout, to improve traffic flow on another stretch, where congestion is hampering traffic.
Another option being considered is expanding the roundabout with additional lanes.
Jillian Fortner speaks with City Director of Engineering Ryan Oster to learn more about the possible options. Her report will appear on NewsChannel 21 at 5 p.m.
