Trump ally warns Letitia James of legal action in second term

Mike Davis, an ally of the president-elect Donald Trumpwarned New York Attorney General Letitia James not to take legal action against Trump during his second term and to threaten to send her to prison if she does.

“I challenge you to try to continue your legal practice against President Trump in his second term,” Davis said during an appearance The Benny Show podcast. “Listen, honey, we’re not going to mess around this time and we’re going to put your fat boy in jail for conspiring against rights. I promise you that.”

Davis is the founder of the Article III Project, a group that pushes for the appointment of conservative judges. His name has been bandied about as attorney general or White House counsel during Trump’s second term.

Davis’ comments come after James’ comments during the press conference about the election results. She said her office is “prepared to fight back again,” pointing to how she has used the rule of law to fight back in the future.

“We did not expect this result, but we are prepared to respond to this result,” James said. “And my office has been preparing for several months because we’ve been here before. We have faced this challenge before and used the rule of law to fight back. And we are prepared to fight back again, because as Attorney General of this great state, it is my job to protect and defend the rights of New Yorkers and the rule of law. And I will not shy away from that responsibility.”

James and the Justice Department have previously been accused by Trump and his allies of creating a two-tiered justice system.

Earlier this year, James won a $454 million civil fraud case against Trump, accusing him of inflating his wealth by billions of dollars in an attempt to get a better loan.

Trump is currently considering appealing the case.
