Election Day 2024: Michiganders say who they voted for
Some voters in Ferndale and Royal Oak shared their reasons for voting for former President Donald Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris.
Tuesday was a victorious election day for Republicans in the Republican-majority swing state of Michigan breeds were called on Wednesday afternoon.
Republicans will regain the presidency, 7 of the 13 seats in the US House of Representatives and the State House.
The Associated Press called for Donald Trump in Michigan just before 1 p.m. on Wednesday. According to unofficial results, the former president won by just under 83,000 votes.
The battle for the up for grabs US Senate seat in Michigan ultimately went to Democrat Elissa Slotkin.

Presidential race: Trump beats Harris in Michigan
Despite heavy campaigning in Michigan, Vice President Kamala Harris lost the state by 1.5 percent.
Harris faced backlash over the Biden administration’s support for Israel in the Gaza war, and it did defeated by Trump in the largely Arab-American enclaves of Dearborn and Dearborn Heights. She also received fewer votes in Detroit than any Democratic presidential candidate in the past twenty years.
