PHOENIX (AZFamily) – The weekend storm system that brought cooler temperatures, rain and snow will leave the state today. Look for sunshine and steady breezes in the valley with a forecast afternoon high of 74 degrees.
Persistent showers are possible in eastern Arizona this morning, while the rest of the state will be dry but cool. Far western Arizona is under a wind advisory today until 3 p.m. for northerly winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 45 miles per hour.
Dry and cooler than average conditions are expected again Tuesday and Wednesday before another storm system moves into Arizona. Look for a high of 75 on Tuesday and 74 on Wednesday.
The next storm to target Arizona will drop south from the Rockies, bringing cold air but little moisture. Some snow showers are possible above 1,500 meters on Thursday.
Rain is not likely in the Valley at this time, but temperatures will drop into the upper 60s on Thursday and should remain cool in the low 70s on Friday.
Overnight lows will bring cold morning temperatures in the 40s on Friday and Saturday, with some temperatures above 30 possible in remote communities. Next weekend looks dry and mild with afternoon temperatures in the mid to upper 70s.
