Bhopal: 20-year-old student, sitting on railway tracks wearing headphones, dies after train hits him

A 20-year-old student died in Bhopal after a train hit him as he sat on the track with his headphones on while preoccupied with his mobile phone, police said.

The incident took place when the victim, Manraj Tomar, a BBA student, and his friend were watching something on their mobile phones on parallel railway tracks. Tomar had his headphones on and was scrolling something on his phone, according to police.

Moments later, a train approached Tomar, even though he couldn’t hear anything because he was busy on his phone with his headphones plugged in. Eventually the train hits him, killing him on the spot.

Tomar was the only child of his parents and his body was handed over to them after a post-mortem examination, police said.

He was fond of bodybuilding and mill making.
