Seven police officers accuse a senior officer of sexual exploitation

A senior police officer posted in a district in Haryana is facing allegations of sexual exploitation by some police officers posted in the same district.

The complaint has gone viral on social media following which the state government has reportedly taken notice of it.

Sources said a four-page printed complaint, with signatures of seven women claiming to be policewomen and the officer’s victim, was addressed to Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.

The complaint related to an incident that occurred recently when a policewoman took another policewoman to the officer’s home and was told to make tea in the kitchen. When she came to offer tea to the officer, he grabbed her hand and used force. But she protested and ran out of the room. The policewoman, who took her there, reprimanded her for this and told her that she should have worked with the officer for career growth and promotion.

The complaint also mentioned a racket alleging that senior police officers were involved in involving wealthy people in rape cases and then mediating a compromise.

The letter also talked about a policewoman who refused the officer’s advances and therefore had her Annual Confidential Report (ACR) falsified as punishment. The letter stated that the matter was also brought to the attention of an MLA who also intervened, but still the ACR was spoiled.

BJP state president Mohan Lal Badoli said if a complaint has been filed with any authority, the matter will definitely be investigated.
