Nicole Kidman became emotional as she reflected on her mother’s recent death at the “Lioness” season two premiere on Wednesday night.

“It was hard,” she honestly told the Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet in Los Angeles. “It’s a difficult road. I’m hanging in there.”

Kidman’s mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, died last month at the age of 84.

The 57-year-old Oscar winner reportedly broke down in tears as she recalled an incredibly fruitful period in her career as she dealt with her mother’s absence.

“I wish my mom was here,” she told THR. “That’s the only thing I would say. Everything is going great at work, but I regret that my mother is not here.”

Nicole learned of her mother’s death shortly after arriving at the 2024 Venice Film Festival, where she was scheduled to accept the best actress award for her work on “Babygirl.”

Instead, the award was accepted on her behalf by the director of the thriller, Halina Reijn, who also announced the death of Nicole’s mother.

“I’m in shock and I have to go to my family, but this award is for her,” Nicole wrote in a statement read by Reijn.

“She shaped me, guided me and created me. I am extremely grateful to be able to tell you all her name through Halina.”

“The collision of life and art is heartbreaking and my heart is broken.”

On September 13, Nicole and her sister Antonia thanked fans for their “outpouring of love and kindness” as they mourned their loss.

“Every message we received from those who loved and admired our Mother meant more to us than we will ever be able to express,” they wrote on Instagram.

Keith Urban updated fans on how his wife was coping with her mother’s death in late September, stating that she was “feeling good.”

Nicole’s grieving thriller “The Perfect Couple” hit the No. 1 spot on Netflix after debuting on September 5, according to THR.

She first appeared after Janelle’s death at the Balenciaga show during Paris Fashion Week on September 30.

He is currently preparing to shoot “Scarpetta” for Amazon Studios with Jamie Lee Curtis and Ariana DeBose.

According to Deadline, the project is believed to have been ordered for two eight-episode seasons.
