Unveiled last September at the One Honda Electrification event, Honda Cars Philippines has officially launched the new 2025 Civic in the Philippine market.

The best-selling compact sedan joins the CR-V as part of Honda’s full hybrid lineup, complemented by the RS e:HEV variant. And like the CR-V, Honda has decided to retain not one, but two Civic variants powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine for 2025.

Focusing on the Civic RS e:HEV, it uses a 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle engine mated to an E-CVT transmission. It also appears on the CR-V RS e:HEV model and produces a combined power of 184 hp and 315 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful Civic variant, as well as the most powerful compact hybrid available locally. What’s more, Honda can do something on the Civic RS e:HEV that it couldn’t do on the CR-V RS e:HEV: provide a spare tire. This is thanks to a smaller lithium-ion battery (1.05 kWh compared to 1.4 kWh in the CR-V) located in the structure between the rear seats and the trunk.

On the other hand, the turbocharged variants retain the benefits of the 1.5-liter DOHC i-VTEC engine mated to a CVT transmission. Without changes, it produces 178 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque.

Changes for 2025 across the Civic lineup include a restyled grille with hexagonal inserts. Both RS versions retain the same gloss black accents found on the door handles, mirrors and rear spoiler.

There are five colors available for the 2025 Civic:

  • Canyon River Blue Metallic – RS e:HEV exclusive
  • Crystal Black Pearl – all variants
  • Platinum White Pearl – all variants
  • Meteoroid Gray Metallic – RS Turbo and V Turbo only
  • Ignite Red Metallic – RS Turbo only

Inside, the new Civic remains similar to the current model, but all variants now feature a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with built-in Google services. Without a built-in SIM card, users will have to tether their smartphones to access Google services and apps like Google Maps and YouTube. This is in addition to the updated Honda Connect, which adds advanced telematics features.

Other new features include parking sensors and USB Type-C charging ports.

On Civic RS models, further differentiation is provided by red accents surrounding the full-length dash insert. The same red accents are found on the leather/suede seats. RS models also benefit from wireless device charging and a 12-speaker Bose sound system.

On the safety front, Honda Sensing comes standard and includes Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW), automatic high beam (AHB), adaptive cruise control (ACC) with low speed follow (LSF) and lead car departure notification (LCDN).

As for prices, they are as follows:

  • Honda Civic V Turbo 2025 – P1,600,000
  • 2025 Honda Civic RS Turbo – P1,790,000
  • Honda Civic RS e:HEV 2025 – P1,990,000

To encourage buyers, Honda Cars Philippines is waiving the reservation fee for the Civic RS e:HEV variant from October 24 to 31, 2024.
