A drug dealer extradited from Spain pleaded guilty to smuggling cocaine and heroin after police confiscated property worth around £1.5 million.

Richard Baxter (50) also pleaded guilty to money laundering and was a key member of a gang that distributed hundreds of kilograms of Class A drugs, Metropolitan Police he said.

He pleaded guilty at Kingston Crown Court on Friday and will be sentenced on December 5.

Police said the drug money was laundered through various companies in an attempt to hide the source.

Baxter was arrested by Spanish police in Valencia, and British officers said he had a house in Surrey and several other properties in southeast England, including a holiday home.

All of them have already been detained.
