A third person has been charged in connection with the shoot dead of a 19-year-old in 2018 in Jefferson City.
Court records show Berry Doran Jones was charged with accessory to second-degree murder, accessory to robbery, accessory to delivery of a controlled substance and accessory to tampering with physical evidence in the prosecution of crimes.
They further state that on November 19, 2018 Semaj Harris And Bruce L Thomasboth Jefferson City and Jones went to 1900 Stadium Boulevard for a drug deal.
KRCG previously reported that Harris told police he had forced open the front door Nilez Nichol’s apartment while a struggle over a firearm was going on inside, involving a co-suspect.
Harris allegedly pointed the gun at the other person involved in the fight and ordered him to get the co-defendant off the floor.
The victim then chased Harris and the co-defendant out of the house and onto the sidewalk in front of the building, where he was shot.
The victim was able to reenter the building, where he collapsed and died.
In 2019, Harris pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of theft and was sentenced to five years in prison.
Thomas pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
It is unclear if Jones is in custody.
