We all know that Sunny Deol is a Bollywood knockout.
But the story of his furious fists continues:
Sunny Deol’s career peaked at the beginning of the new millennium with the release of Anil Sharma’s blockbuster ‘ Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.
His suffering captures the human tragedy unfolded during the partition of India and the plight of a married man separated from his wife (Ameesha Patel).
The burly actor was believable as a man willing to face extreme adversity to reunite his family.
More videos, e.g Indian (2001) i Character (2003) garnered impressive box office success, demonstrating growing support for the star.
However, Sunny was offered surprisingly few big banner films.
The actor lamented his lack of marketing skills, which actually turned out to be a disadvantage in the fast-growing film industry of the 2000s.

While Dharmendra and brother Bobby have more expansive personalities, Sunny has always been somewhat of an introvert – all his lead actresses echo comments about his “shyness”.
In addition, there is his reluctance to talk about his personal life in the press. Sunny had to rely solely on her work to speak for herself.
One of the marketing strategies that Deols adopted was to join forces.
Anil Sharma Apnea (2007) presents father Dharmendra and brother Bobby alongside Sunny as a man forging his identity amid conflicting family ties.
The film, more sentimental than modern cinema, found an enthusiastic audience.
Inspired by Apneasuccess, the Deols came together to make another popular film, Yamla Pagla Deewana (2011), which in turn led to poor follow-up.
Comedies were an innovative departure from the norm for Sunny.

Sunny tried his hand at directing thrice but failed every time Dillagi (1999), Ghayal again (2016) i Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas (2019).
His elder son Karan was featured in the last film while younger son Rajveer was introduced on screen by Rajashras in the recent film Dono.
Like his collaborations with Rahul Rawail in the 1980s and Rajkumar Santoshi in the 1990s, Anil Sharma’s films proved to be the foundation of Sunny’s career in the new millennium.

In 2023, their fifth collaboration Gadar 2 brought pandemic-weary audiences back to theaters and signaled a resurgence in the actor’s career.
