Ace uses his powers to bring them safely to the ground. He and Luffy team up to fight the Marines who try to stop them. Squardo and his men then suddenly appear on Whitebeard’s rowboat, and Squardo tells everyone to run while he and his men stay behind and fight the Marines. Furious, Whitebeard stops the ship and yells at Squardo, saying it’s a shame when a son dies before his father. Whitebeard then states that there is no place for him in the New Era and gives his final order, which is to return safely to the New World without him.
