Mangaluru: Senior citizen who was kidnapped in Kumaradhara River near the bathing ghat at ul Kukke Subramanya was saved by residents and approx temple staff on Friday. Sources said that an elderly man, who was traveling alone from Bengaluru to Kukke Subramanya, entered the river near the ghat and was soon swept away by the current.
Alarmed, the locals immediately informed the temple staff, who reached the spot and helped rescue him. However, the man was unable to provide clear details about his identity or origin, following which the Subrahmanya police were informed.
It is learned that an elderly man was reported missing in Bengaluru around four days ago.
