Samantha Harvey, who won Britain’s most important fiction prize, the Booker Prize, for her novel Orbitalhas created a new genre: nature writing about space.
“I see it as a kind of pastoral in space,” Harvey told the newspaper New scientist podcast earlier this year. “I wanted to see what you can do with words in a painterly way to evoke that compelling, joyful, extraordinary and now also somewhat sad image of the Earth.”
