NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) – Nebraska farmers and ranchers are invited to improve their financial literacy during this year’s AG Smart Money sessions.
This event offers a variety of workshops, webinars and resources designed to help producers deal with the financial challenges they face.
Three hybrid sessions will be held at the Lincoln-Logan-McPherson County Extension Office. The sessions are about budgeting, saving and dealing with debt.
Agricultural economics educator Shannon Sand said the goal is to help producers make informed decisions.
“My father, a farmer and rancher, says he doesn’t have to gamble because he does it every day,” Sand says. “A lot of this is to remind people to check their family budget, check the crop budget and the livestock budget and also look at their leases and make sure they’re getting a good deal and getting everything they need to make sure they succeed. .”
The extension will have sessions until Friday, November 8.
