Gary Pallister has pleaded with incoming Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim to keep Ruud van Nistelrooy within his coaching team.
Van Nistelrooy has been holding the fort at United ever since Erik ten Haglast week’s dismissal.
However, he will make way for Amorim when he starts his new role at United on Monday.
Van Nistelrooy has expressed his wish to remain part of the management team in the future.
He goes to discuss with Amorim whether there is any job left for him. However, Pallister is keen for the ex-United striker to stay.
Speak with Luckyblock.comPallister – who became a club legend at Old Trafford under Sir Alex Ferguson – said: “My advice is to Reuben Amorim It would be to keep Ruud van Nistelrooy in the line-up, as this could be beneficial to him.
“He understands the club and knows its ins and outs very well. So he will have the knowledge that other coaches who come from outside do not.”
“The fans love him too, you can see that in the way they reacted when he became interim manager.
“Ultimately though, it’s up to Amorim. If he feels he needs a clean cut and it should just be his staff, then that’s his decision.
“That said, I think it would be a good thing to have someone who really gets it Manchester United and Old Trafford.”
