JACKSON, ma’am. – Authorities say a man has died in Mississippi after hot asphalt was dumped on him.
Jackson police said officers responded to a call about an accident at AJ Materials on East McDowell Road earlier this week.
Officers said they arrived to find an unknown man buried under hot asphalt.
Police Chief Joseph Wade said it appeared there was a malfunction involving a dump truck. Wade said it appeared the victim was trying to solve the problem when the asphalt began to collapse.
“My prayers, condolences, thoughts, my heart goes out to his family,” Wade told reporters at a news conference.
