A Michigan man was arrested Tuesday for threats he made against conservative Christians, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of Michigan announced on Election Day.
According to United States Attorney Dawn N. Ison, Isaac Sissel, 25, who currently resides in Ann Arbor, posted the following threat online: “I will launch an attack on conservative Christian, (sic) filth if Trump wins the election. I have a stolen AR15 and a target that I refuse to name so I can continue to get away with my plans. “Without a specific victim or the ability to find where I hid the weapon, the FBI can’t do anything until I complete the attack.”
The FBI Detroit Field Office is investigating the case as part of the Justice Department’s Election Threats Task Force, which has “led the Department’s efforts to address the threat of violence against election workers and ensure that all election workers – whether elected, appointed or volunteer – are able to do their jobs without threats and intimidation.”
“The task force works with the election community and state and local law enforcement to review allegations and reports of threats against election workers, and has investigated and prosecuted these matters as appropriate, working with FBI field offices and U.S. attorneys’ offices across the country. . Three years after its creation, the Task Force continues this work and supports U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and FBI field offices across the country as they continue the critical work the Task Force began,” the Justice Department said. said in a statement.
