UIPD investigates armed robbery of Joe’s Brewery | News

CHAMPAIGN – University of Illinois Police are investigating an armed robbery at Joe’s Brewery that prompted emergency calls across campus early Friday morning.

Police were called to the bar at 1.01am on Friday for reports of the robbery, with the first officer arriving on the scene after a minute.

According to victims at the scene, a man entered the bar through the exit, pointed a gun at an employee at the cash register, took money from the cash register and left through the exit.

No shots were fired, but the suspect pointed the gun at three employees.

University police continue to patrol the area and monitor security cameras and automated license plate readers.
