According to Rachel Brown-Finnis, Kieran McKenna is responsible for Ipswich’s ‘terrible’ defense as they conceded the third goal at home to Newcastle.

Aleksandr Isak had a memorable match, scoring a hat-trick against the Tractor Boys in just 57 minutes. His second goal came after poor decision-making in Ipswich’s build-up, thanks to a number of mistakes they took advantage of.

Arijanet Muric, hesitant in possession, passed under pressure, causing Jean Cajuste to lose the ball. The Swedish striker stood in the penalty area to tap in the easy finish on his way to a 4-0 win.

Final score from BBC Sport expert Rachel Brown-Finnis was less than impressed. She had previously criticized the concept of playing from the back in the show and again blamed the manager for the goal.

She said (15:49): “It’s terrible. Muric shouldn’t have played it out; it is never on. But the only option for the defender, if he has his back to his own goal for the rest of the game, is to knock the ball wide.

“It’s a low percentage advantage to play the ball there. It should never happen, and since I had my little rant to refute your argument (others blame the goalkeeper), it’s the manager who gets the blame.

“It’s poor decision-making by Muric; your team is down 2-0 and about to go into halftime. Just don’t do things like that.”

Air sports pundits also had their say on the goal, with Tim Sherwood clearly frustrated by the nature of the error. He said, “It is Isaac again; He will never score an easier goal than this, and they all scored it themselves…

“Just mix it! Play! Sometimes you have to go a long way. Rolling to the midfielder in the 18-yard area is not good enough. 3-0”.

Ipswich are heading for relegation as things stand now

McKenna’s rise to the top with the Tractor Boys was a fairy tale, but this season they have become reality again.

He’s not alone when it comes to newly promoted managers being heavily criticized for his players’ failure to establish a style of play they don’t seem suited to, but Russell Martin has lost his job at Southampton as a result, so the boss of Ipswich won’t take.

SouthamptonIpswich will have to take into account the dismissal of Russell Martin by Southampton.

On the other hand, it was a memorable week for Eddie Howe’s side after their Carabao Cup victory over Brentford. It was Sandro Tonali’s turn lips of Newcastle fans after his impressive performance, get some support.

He finally seemed to be building chemistry with Bruno Guimarães in midfield. The Magpies hope the duo stays together for at least the rest of the season, despite interest from Manchester City.

Isak has also been linked to other clubs and his eleven goals this season will continue to attract attention.

Howe’s team faces a number of issues in terms of winning and sustainability rules, but losing any of these key players would be a setback in what has already been an injury-affected season.

With form finally starting to improve, fans will be hoping that none of their top men leave in the January transfer window.

In other news, Newcastle plan to sign two players in January.
